Amazon announces new fee, and new metric: Amazon has launched a new metric to help FBA sellers avoid a forthcoming low inventory fee by maintaining optimal stock levels, using machine learning to recommend minimum inventory. 3. Etsy goes down a week before Christmas: Etsy sellers reported difficulties accessing the site due to a "too many requests" error, impacting listing and shopping activities. The issue was acknowledged by Etsy as a "Checkout Issue," and progressed from "Investigating" to "Resolved" in fairly short order. [Learn more]

4. Is China consuming the whole ecommerce process?: Chinese ecom giants Shein and Temu are expanding rapidly in the U.S, fueled by tens of thousands of sellers, most of which are Chinese. Their growth, with Shein's estimated GMV at $40 billion and Temu's at $15 billion in 2023, underscores the threat to US ecommerce that the ‘made, sold, and marketed by China’ model poses.
