Amazon and Shopify Near 50% of U.S. E-commerce Market: Amazon and Shopify together now represent nearly half of U.S. e-commerce, with estimates putting Amazon’s 2025 U.S. sales at $440 billion, or 35.7% of the $1.2 trillion market, and Shopify reporting a 14% share, up from 12% a year earlier. Amazon Tests Seller Expert Incentive Program: Amazon has introduced a limited Amazon Seller Expert Pilot Program inviting active forum contributors in the U.S., UK, Japan, and India to earn gift cards in exchange for posting high-quality responses and providing feedback during a March 2026 trial. 4. eBay Acquires Depop for $1.2 Billion: Etsy has agreed to sell its C2C fashion marketplace Depop to eBay for approximately $1.2 billion in cash, less than the $1.625 billion it paid in 2021.
